I learnt to play the trumpet at school and although I played in the wind band at Woking 6th Form College, I gave up when I went to university. That was many years ago, and the trumpet lay forgotten until my son wanted to learn to play an instrument but didn’t know what to choose. So I dug out my own trumpet and started to play it again. After such a long time I had forgotten how much I had enjoyed, but with my son using the trumpet I needed another instrument. I had always loved the tone of the flugel horn, so I purchased one, and wanting an excuse to play it, joined the Bisley Band!
