Even though it was a little different to our usual September “Last Night of the Proms” concert, a lovely evening was had by all. The band enjoyed playing to a sell out crowd, and the audience enjoyed the varied programme of music, including the traditional Pomp and Circumstance and Sea Songs. There was a touching tribute to our dear friend Len Tamplin, who sadly passed away last year, and his wife, Dorothy was presented with a lovely bouquet.
We also honoured our retired Chair, Brenda Cox, with her appointment as the band’s Vice President, as acknowledgement of the massive contribution she has made to the band over her 60 years of membership.

We were fortunate to have a guest singer, Chloe Elliott, who raised the roof with Rule Britannia and Jerusalem. What a final top note!

Thank you to all our wonderful deps whose help was invaluable. We are very lucky to have such a fantastic network of people who are willing to come along to boost our numbers when needed.
On that note, we always welcome new players, irrespective of standard. If you are interested in finding out more about joining us, see our Join Us page for more information.
And last, but by no means least, thank you to all of you who came along to support us and be entertained. We are so grateful to have such strong support, and you are the reason we do what we do.
