We all enjoyed our annual Celebration of the Last Night of the Proms concert last week, bringing a little taster of the atmosphere of the Royal Albert Hall to Bisley. The first half opened with the good solid March, True and Trusty followed by some more mellow tunes, including Benedictus beautifully performed by Graham Davey on Euphonium. The audience were then treated to the Drummer’s Delight, where our percussionist Michael Nagle took over with his fantastic improvised rhythms and beats. Our MD even had a chance for a sit down before the band came back in with the tune!
The second half of course was our tribute to the traditional LNOTP, and we were very lucky to have our very own Lesley Seaton beautifully singing Rule Britannia. Well done to our audience as well for joining in with Land of Hope and Glory and Jeruselem and making the evening such fun.
We are once again extremely grateful to every one of our supporters, friends and families who help to make this concert possible. From putting up the stage, decorating the hall, selling tickets and providing refreshments to boosting our numbers as a player, thanks go to you all, we couldn’t do it without you!
