Our Christmas Concert was a fun evening of festive tunes and carol singing, with a little bit of Dave’s humour thrown in! Thank you to our audience, helpers, patrons and supporters for making our musical celebration of Christmas a success.
The Douglas Pope trophy is traditionally awarded at the Christmas concert to the person who, in the opinion of the Musical Director, has made the best contribution to the band as a whole. This year’s thoroughly deserving winner is Lesley Seaton, who not only has attended every single engagement this year, but runs the box office for our concerts, is assistant librarian, is always there to help open up and close our rehearsal room and is also a committee member! Well done Lesley, and thank you.
The Musical Director also presented last year’s winner, Graham Davey, with a (slightly smaller) replica of the shield for him to keep on his mantlepiece. Graham continues to work tirelessly to help keep things running smoothly and the band are very grateful to him.
