Lockdown-week one

The last week or so has been rather surreal for most of us. Whether you are looking out for elderly neighbours or relatives, sorting out working from home, or indeed not being able to work at all, or are a key worker, there is not doubt that all of our lives have changed dramatically.

But of course the hardest thing is not being able to go to band! Not only can we not attend rehearsals, but we had a number of exciting engagements lined up for the coming spring and summer season which now of course are highly unlikely to go ahead.

So what are we as a band doing about it? Well, our lovely musical director Dave has already given us some pointers on how we should be warming up and practising our technical skills, from “buzzing” the mouthpiece to lip flexibility. I will be asking the band to share how they are getting on soon. We will be keeping in touch with each other via a whats app group and by e-mail, and there are a number of Facebook groups to keep us entertained and informed.

So, keep safe everyone, and we look forward to making some fantastic music for you all when this is all over!
