We said a fond goodbye this week to Len Tamplin, who died on 2nd December. The photo is from the Order of Service for Len’s funeral on Tuesday for which members of the Band provided a guard of honour. Len made a tremendous contribution to our Band. He had been a member of Almac Bisley Brass Band and its predecessor the Bisley Office Equipment Band since the latter was formed in the mid-1960s. He joined from Chobham Ex-Servicemen’s’ Band and, in all, had played in brass bands for over 70 years. He was also loved and respected in Bisley Village having been a Trustee of the Village Hall – the Band’s “home” – for over 20 years. Len was a lovely man and he was a great friend. We will miss him.
